Earlier this week I watched a documentary called Inside Job. It's about the economic crisis of 2008.
It was very balanced (politically speaking) and illustrated, in a very easy-to-understand way, the complex financial concepts and instruments that played a big part in the whole mess. Throughout the movie there are interviews with many big names and insiders. It shows, in a remarkable way, the huge conflicts of interest that are present in politics, regulation and elite academia.
I usually don't enjoy documentaries, but I thought it was a very good movie. Admittedly, I enjoyed this one partly because I'm a financial planner and therefore very interested in the subject matter, but I thought some of you might find it of interest as well. Likely doesn't trump your March Madness type weekend plans, but check out the trailer below:
